The “Captain of Köpenick“ (German: Hauptmann von Köpenick) is an “Old Berlin original“ and not only famous and popular in Berlin. The “Captain of Köpenick“ real name was Friedrich Wilhelm Voigt. He was a convicted shoemaker and became famous because on October 16, 1906 he disguised as a captain in the town hall of Köpenick with a squad of trustful soldiers. There he robbed the city treasury and arrested the mayor. Because of this trick, the “Captain of Köpenick“ became famous all over the world. In memory of this trick, the “Captain of Köpenick“ is a popular guest at many events. The “Captain of Köpenick“ receives personally your guests.
